Monday Checkin

So, last week was a slow one — this week I tried something new. I upped my caloried, carbs and fat — and I lost 1.4 pounds!

I had my 6 month checkup on Friday (a few weeks early) and they were very pleased with my progress so far. When I mention I had only lost 5 pounds in the last month, they thought upping my calories a bit would help so I tried it out.

I changed my DailyPlay to 1000 Calories and am going to aim for 60g Carbs or less instead of 40g like I was doing. Cross your fingers! :)

Interesting to hear this, Mary. My nutritionist continues to tell me that I’m eating too little (I average 700 calories or less a day). My concern in upping my intake is !0 I’m just not hungry (this week is my second-month anniversary since my RNY surgery) and 2) it’s hard to believer her that I’ll lose more weight if I do so — I’ve been losing about 1.5 pounds per week. Your post and experience are encouraging. Thanks.

Hi Clara! At 2 months, I was lucky to get 700! I think you’re doing great… I wasn’t able to get more until 5 months. Thank God for my shakes! I changed some little things, like buying the 2% greek yogurt instead of the 0%. I had my first cream of wheat the other day and it didn’t make me hungrier. It’s just a tiny bump in calories and carbs and fat but so far so good. Don’t worry yourself about that yet!

Thanks, Mary. This is good to hear. I honestly can’t imagine eating 1,000 calories at this point. It’s good to know that that was your experience as well.

    Good luck!
